A stunning quilt designed by Dereck Lockwood has a black background and shaded pastels make a center star. Applique flowers and leaves surround the star. This quilt is unusual 8 way strip pieced design forming a star medallion which is surrounded by appliqued moth orchids and exotic birds representing the semi-tropical night of Southern California.
